Friday's Movies!

The Brothers Grimm (PG-13) Wide Release

Finally, the return of Terry Gilliam! The eccentric ex-Monty Pythoner is back with this reinvention of the fairy tale–telling brothers (Matt Damon, Heath Ledger) as old-tyme scam artists taking on an undead queen (Monica Bellucci).

Undiscovered (PG-13) Wide Release

Don't worry — Ashlee Simpson ain't the lead actress in this musical rom-com about a bunch of wannabe Los Angeleno rockers. Instead it's a nobody (Pell James), whose character falls in love with a guy named (no joke) Luke Falcon, played by another nobody (Steven Strait).

The Cave (PG-13) Wide Release

It's sorta sad that the biggest stars in this horror flick are Cole Hauser and Piper Perabo. (Hey, wasn't she supposed to have been the Next Big Sexy Thing?) But at least there's a big CGI monster lurking in the titular cave.

The Baxter (PG-13) Limited Release

It's a classic rom-com moment: The hero rushes in and saves the girl from marrying the bland doofus. This comedy is about the bland doofus, known as the Baxter (Michael Showalter).

Eternal (NR) Limited Release

A movie about a Transylvanian seductress and her hottie assistant, who kill girls and bathe in their blood? Oh, man — the theater is gonna be packed with goths in vinyl pants and trench coats.

The Memory of a Killer (R) Limited Release

Geography quiz: Where is Antwerp? That's the site of this mystery, in which two cops find that their only witness in a murder case is a hit man suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Answer: Belgium.

Dirty Deeds (PG-13) Limited Release

And they're done dirt-cheap. The latest in a long line of gross-out high-school comedies features a crew of seniors trying to complete the "dirty deeds" — a series of humiliating challenges — before graduation.

Three Dancing Slaves (NR) Limited Release

Straight off the film-fest circuit comes this indie drama about three brothers dealing with their angry pop in the aftermath of their mom's death. Making matters worse: They live in the suburbs!

Well, honestly The Cave and Undiscovered just look really stupid and a waste of theatre space... I really want to see The Brothers Grimm, though.
